Featured Seller

I've decided that with creating this new blog for my shop, I not only wanted to keep my fans up to date with what was going on in the wonderful world of J&J's, but with some other fabulous shops as well!

The first shop that I would like to introduce here is can be found on Etsy at:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/bluedaisyglass

One of my personal favorite pieces from Apryl's shop - so many beauties to choose from - so hard to love just one!

Blue Daisy Glass is ran by a very nice lady named Apryl who was gracious enough to answer some questions for me so we can get a better feel for her shop and how she first became a crafter.

Question:  When did you start making your beautiful creations?

Apryl:  I started a few years back when my husband sent me on a glass fusing course for my birthday. It was a horrible session, the teacher was awful , but that inspired me to do it for myself. I already had a huge ceramics kiln and so used that. I've since been on fantastic courses and now teach my own introductory classes. I have a special method called 'trial and error'!

Question: What is your inspiration? Which item in your shop is your favorite?

Apryl: The glass itself is the inspiration. I buy random glass and play around with the pieces until I find a match. I always come back to the blues though especially the cobalt blue daisy which remains my favorite.

I also love the huge dichroic pendants. The one with the gold sun spot looks fantastic on a choker with a black dress. I love the way it becomes a talking piece.

The blue daisy happened when I lost concentration for a while on the pattern that I was following. I stuck the triangles in my suncatcher the wrong way round and an ink blot was formed. This has since evolved into my daisies.

Question: What brought you to Etsy?

Apryl: I started on ETSY as a buyer long before a seller. I was selling on a UK site and wanted to branch out into the world beyond the UK. I started the shop as a New Years resolution. It's quite a scary place to start but as the teams appeared so did a lot of friendly faces.

Question: Do you have any other hobbies or interests?

Apryl: Other hobbies, anything crafty, travel, reading.I am particularly like seeing local crafts when on a trip. I've recently been inspired by a trip to Marrakesh.

I would like to thank Apryl again for being a featured seller here on my blog and sharing a little bit about her shop with us.  If you haven't already checked out her shop - please do so as you'll be amazed at the beautiful items within!
